A little bit of me and yoga

My love relationship with yoga begun already over 15 years ago. It felt so good to find something where it is so crucial to let go of the competition mentality, ego and being perfect.  I played basketball in finnish and Nordic countries championship level during my childhood and teen years, I also was a ballerina, what a mix, right? But Yoga brought a whole different power aspect to my life and I found peace within myself after many years in competitive world of basketball and ballet. I started with Ashtanga practice and my current practice is Embodied Flowâ„¢, Anusara, Vinyasa flow yoga and calm Yin yoga.

I started to teach yoga and pilates over 13 years ago. I am Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher/ Embodied Flowâ„¢ teacher, E-RYT200 (Tiffany Cruikshank Vinyasa Yoga 200h) and RYT500 (Tara Judelle 300h)

I am specialised in Vinyasa Flow Yoga/ Embodied Flowâ„¢ and Yin Yoga. I am highly inspired by Anusara yoga and BMC (Body-Mind Centering) and have studied them with Scott Lyons (BMC, Embodied Flowâ„¢ ), Tara Judelle (Embodied Flowâ„¢) and Elena Brower (Anusara).  I love to spice things up mixing elements from pilates and dance also. I have extremely curious mind and I am constantly educating myself. I know that I don`t know, as they say.  In my opinion the most important thing is to teach from my own practice, honestly and straight from my heart.

My own teaching style has developed during the years, and I feel that I have found my own path, my inner warrior goddess,  my voice as a teacher and this moment. For me it means that I have courage to read the energies of my each individual student and I truly trust my intuition (inTRUEism) to bring us the exact practice we need at that current moment. Not too much planning and following the plan, but more courage to teach with an enourmous, receptive heart.

While teaching I emphasize anatomically correct alignments in asanas, the importance of core support, Kramas and concentration on your own unique and honest practice, without forgetting having fun simultaneously! I try to motivate my students to find their own practice on and off the mat. I mix my given ingredients with all the other given ingredients, sun, rain, the students, energy in the room, singing, music, and the universe to co-create an experience of authenticity. The only way out is through.

I am forever and ever so blessed to have found my teachers Tara and Scott and with them, so many Embodied Flow sisters and brothers. This truly is where I would love the yoga community and offerings world wide to develop towards.

Embodied Flowâ„¢ is a continuum of movement and expression that draws from the discoveries of various hatha, tantric and somatic movement systems in order to experience yoga as a living art form. Embodied Flowâ„¢ provides the technology for a deep sense of ease, strength and connectivity in the human form. This in turn, empowers the practitioner to be their own greatest teacher as they expand, integrate and facilitate awareness in their entire body-mind.

My inspiration is always and forvever Nature, the ocean, metamorphosis, authentic alchemy, love, my students and my teachers. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I am the goddess, the wild woman, the shaman, the witch, the priestess, the huntress, the healer, the receiver...

xxx, Satu
